SoupFest 17

Helpers will be serving soup made by local chefs, including the mighty Phil Fanning, from a field kitchen set up in the Harpur Square from 11am to 4pm on Tuesday 5th December. We will ask for a minimum donation of £3 for soup and bread from all visitors. The bread will all have been donated by local bakeries and supermarkets including everyone from the big supermarket bakeries, Tesco and Waitrose, to Companions Bread who have offered 5 loaves! There will be live music throughout the event which will attract more people and we will be promoting the event to all the local businesses, banks, lawyers, students etc and encouraging everyone to come and buy soup in their lunch break.

Everything we take on the day will be distributed among the rough sleepers and homeless in Bedford, of which there are far too many.  The Harpur Trust have recently appointed a new Inter-Agency Officer, someone who will be working across the various homeless charities, and they will be the person to allocate the money raised by SoupFest where it is needed most.
